Discovery Circles

A supportive space in which everyone can change for Purposeful Cultures

Discovery Circles is intended to provide a space within which every team member makes the attitudinal changes required to support the organisational aspiration of a sustainable and purposeful culture. It's a small group program inspired by a 'book club,' where organisational leaders or team leaders facilitate discussions around the book Purposeful Cultures.

Each Discovery Circle group has a facilitator, supported by the Purposeful Cultures Facilitation Guide, and a video or two for each chapter of the book. This focuses the group’s work at a pace they can choose. We can provide a facilitator, groups can share facilitation, or the team leader may take this role.

Each member of the team receives their own copy of the Purposeful Cultures: A practical self-leadership guide book.

Program Aims:

  • Allow all team members to connect and feel supported as they evolve the culture together around the organisational purpose.

  • Identify personal strengths and values as a way of exploring our personal purpose at work and enhancing wellbeing.

  • Raise awareness of our unconscious assumptions about how work should be and whose job it is to ‘lead’, increasing participation and a sense of agency at work.

  • Develop interpersonal and communication skills that promote change and increase emotional intelligence.

  • Contribute to organisational culture for innovation, effectiveness, adaptability and resilience.

This program promotes solutions-focused thinking, empowering staff to enhance their contributions to work, the organisation, and its mission. Participants also gain insights benefiting their personal lives and volunteer activities.
